What personal data is collected

Nope, I don’t allow comments, so the site collects no data about comments. I didn’t want to deal with spam, moderation, commenting cliques or any of that.

Contact forms

I don’t use contact forms. I don’t want your data!

With no logins for visitors, no comments and no contact forms, we don’t use many cookies. Since I use a CDN (Cloudflare) there’s two cookies to locate trusted web traffic and for the Rocket Loader module to speed up javascript delivery. Those are set to expire in 6 months. There’s one WordPress cookie, set to expire at the end of the session. If you are seeing more cookies than that, you’re either logged in to or you’re being tracked by…someone. But it’s not me!

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Currently I run no analytics. I know! It’s the worst decision a blogger could make! But I’m really committed to not wanting anything to do with your data. I don’t need it, and you shouldn’t have to share it.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Honestly this section applies to me. You shouldn’t have an account here, and you can’t leave comments, so there’s no personal data to request. I suppose I can request my data at any time…
